ovTwo Building Guide
Welcome to the ovTwo Building Guide! This guide covers tips and tricks all to do with building, whether you’re figuring out the build controls, or simply looking for inspiration, this guide covers it all!

How do I build?
Firstly, you’ll need a house! There are free apartments available which are perfect for testing things out - simply hit “M” to open the map, select “The Hub”, and then “Free Apartments”. You can then choose whatever free apartment is available by right-clicking the terminal.
Congratulations! You now own a house in ovTwo. Now we just need some furniture to make the place a home!

How do I decorate my house?
Now that you have your house, you can open the map, select “The Hub”, and teleport to “Home Improvement”. When you load in, you will see the Home Improvement Tablet! Right-click the tablet to interact with it, and you’ll see the entire furniture catalog! (Categorised furniture catalog is available in the Discord server)
Scroll through the catalogue until you see something you like (and is within your budget!) and click on the little magnifying glass - the item will appear on the pedestal for you to purchase!
To go back to your home quickly, you can select the “H” key on your keyboard, click the home you wish to teleport to, and select the “Teleport” button.
Once you’re back in your home, it’s time to start decorating! Simply select the “I” key on your keyboard to open your inventory, click “Furniture”, and you will see your new purchase! Click the item and it will automatically appear in front of you.

Building Controls
Right-click the item and select “Move”. This will reveal the builder’s interface, including the “Object Tuning” panel.
On the left is your free placement interface! Simply click and drag each panel. The green panel is your general floor placement, while the red & green are your up, down, left, and right! The arrows, of course, drag the item in a straight line according to its direction.
To rotate items, press “R” on your keyboard, and it will reveal the rotation interface! To go back to the free placement interface, press “T”.
The Object Tuning panel is for more precise placement - so if you can’t quite get something level using the free placement interface, the Object Tuning can help with that! But you do not need to use it if you wish.

Zone Configuration
If you press the “Z” key on your keyboard, it will open up the Zone Configuration tab! This is where you can:
Manage Guests: You can remove players from your home!
Manage Furniture: If you want to pick up all of your furniture, or if you are having trouble selecting a furniture item, you can pick it up from here! It will then be sent to “The Impound” to reclaim.
Under “Guest Permissions”, you may allow or disallow certain mechanics within your home: Teleporting, Vehicles, Mounts and Voice Chat.
Under “Useful” is “Disable Confirmations”, which will disable or enable the confirmation pop-up when sending an item to “The Impound.”

What’s “The Impound?”
The Impound is a “secondary inventory” for furniture items that you pick up via the Zone Configuration tab.
If you click the “J” key on your keyboard, you will see all of the furniture you have sent to The Impound.
You can then recover the item by clicking the hand icon, and it will return to your normal Inventory.

Buying vs Renting
In ovTwo, you have the option to either Buy or Rent a property!
When buying a property, it’s very simple - you buy it, you own it forever - unless you sell it! In which case the sale price will be half of the purchasing price.
With renting, you can add as many 30-days as you like, meaning if you were to rent a property and selected the rent option twice, you will have 90 days of rent!
What happens to my furniture if my rent runs out?
If your rent runs out, all of your furniture will go to The Impound.
Will I be notified if my rent is about to run out?
Yes, you will be notified if your rent is soon to run out - when you log in, the system will let you know when it has 15 days left.
Can I sell a rented property?
While you cannot sell your rental properties, you can end your lease early if you like! Simply right-click your home terminal and select “End Lease”. This means you will no longer own the home, and you will not receive any money back from your purchase.
[As of 05/12/2025] only Free Apartments can have their lease ended.]

Lighting
Lighting is currently a work in progress, but we now have a new system where you can input a hex code to change the colour of a light to your choosing! Please note that lights can only turn on automatically during the night-time.
[As of 14/02/2025, only the Wrought Iron Wall Lamp has this option.]
To do this, place a light in your home, right-click it and select “Move”. It will reveal a “Customise” box, in which you can input the command.
Simply type in this command: lightColor= and you can either type Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Pink, Magenta or White.
E.g. lightColor=red
Make sure you click “Update” for the changes to apply!
If you want a specific colour, you can grab a hex code online or from a media program (e.g Paint.net). The command is the same, you’ll just need to input the hex code at the end instead!
E.g. lightColor=#17FFDC
Click “Update” and voila, you have your own custom lighting!
