Pressing the Map icon at the bottom of your screen or pressing the M key on your keyboard will display the travel map. The travel map is the primary way to move around Onverse. Simply click the area you want to go and you will be taken there!
The top displays a section of tabs which allows you to jump from less specific areas to more specific ones. There is a description of the area in the left hand corner. A list of instances of that area in the right hand corner; the instances can be sorted in ascending or descending order by: name, number of users, number of available homes, and number of friends. The bottom half of the window shows the map.
Points of Interest (POI) are shown on the map as golden stars and are the main points of a map. A bigger golden star set inside a circle denotes the default starting point on a map.
Land and housing is shown on the map as a house icon. The bigger the property, the bigger its icon; the icons are also color coded to reflect the property’s status: green means it is owned by a friend, red means it is owned by a player who is not a friend, blue means it is owned by you, and white means it is unowned and can be purchased!
Apartments are shown on the map as an apartment building icon. A red icon means it is a penthouse apartment, a golden icon means it is a deluxe apartment, and a blue icon means it is a free apartment.
There is also a map legend displayed in the bottom right hand corner of each area describing what can be done there: a dollar sign denotes shopping, a PP gem denotes PP hunting, a house denotes homes can be purchased, and a tree denotes land plots can be purchased.
Chat is the way to communicate with other players within Onverse! There are a variety of chat tabs at the bottom of the chat window that allows you to filter your chat so you can view all or just portions of the chat available.
The default tab, ALL CHAT, does not filter any chat. The second tab, LOCAL CHAT, will only show local chat, chat from others who are within 30 meters of your avatar. The third tab, PRIVATE MESSAGES, shows messages that users have sent to you privately. The fourth tab, FRIEND CHAT, shows messages sent from your friends to their friends and messages you have sent to your friends. The fifth tab, GUIDE CHAT, allows you to communicate directly with the Onverse guide team and is used to report players who are violating Onverse’s rules or to ask for help. The sixth tab, SYSTEM MESSAGES, will display messages from the server and announcements. The seventh tab, GAME MESSAGES, will display any messages related to games you are playing.
Chat can be used to execute commands within Onverse as well. Simple type slash (/) followed by the command to execute it. For a list of all commands and how to execute them, type “/” into your chat window and then hit the Tab key.
Clicking on a username in the chat window will display the same options as if you were right clicking on that user.
You can also send emoticons through chat! When typed, the following symbol combinations will be replaced with an emoticon in chat.
Pressing the Inventory icon at the bottom of your screen or pressing the I key on your keyboard will display your inventory. The inventory holds all of your items and is where you are able to customize your avatar’s look and home. The inventory is divided into four tabs: Avatar, Furniture, Equipment, and Pets.
The avatar category allows you to customize your avatar’s look and is divided into: Clothing, Accessories, and Body. For each section, a column is related to a specific type of item (e.g., shirts, pants, hats, etc.) and the top row shows items that are currently in use. To use an item, find it (by using the up and down arrows at either end of the column) and then either: drag and drop it into the top row, drag and drop it onto your avatar, or double click the item.
The furniture category allows you to customize your homes’ look is divided into: Floor, Wall, and Ceiling. To place an item in your home, double click it or drag and drop it onto its appropriate location within your home.
The equipment category holds all items that your avatar can equip. To equip one of these items press C on your keyboard to display the equip bar, then drag and drop the item onto one of the ten key icons. When you press the key that you assigned the item to the item will be equipped or uneqipped. This allows for fast switching between tools!
The pet category holds all of your pets. To bring a pet out, double click it. Right clicking your pet will allow you to interact with them, name them, or pick them up.
Pressing the Friends icon at the bottom of your screen or pressing the F key on your keyboard will display your list of friends. The friends list has several categories that can be expanded or collapsed to display the users in it using the + and – icons next to category name. Online displays your online friends. Offline displays your offline friends. Accept Requests displays users who have requested to add you as a friend. Pending Requests displays users you have requested to add as a friend. Ignored Users displays users whose messages you have chosen to ignore. Local Users displays user that are in the same instance as you. Right clicking a user’s name will list some of the option you see when right clicking the user’s avatar.
Pressing the Play Animations icon at the bottom of your screen or pressing the G key on your keyboard will display a list of animations. The animations list has two categories (Dance and Emote) that can be expanded or collapsed to display the animations in it using the + and – icons next to category name. Click an animation name to perform it.
Pressing the Home List icon at the bottom of your screen or pressing the H key on your keyboard will display a list of your homes. You can name or rename your homes, make a home your default, teleport to your homes, or bring up the instance the home is found in on your map using the buttons at the bottom of the Homes window.
