Important Security Information

As an indie studio, our executable files are not currently code-signed. This means you may see security warnings from Windows Defender or your browser when downloading or running the installer.

Windows Users: If Windows SmartScreen blocks the installer, click "More info" and then "Run anyway" to proceed with the installation. This isn't anything to worry about, our software is safe, but Windows doesn't always recognize unsigned publishers.

Chrome Users: If Chrome blocks the download, we recommend to select "Keep" on download if available. Alternatively, use Firefox or Edge, which may be more permissive with indie software downloads.

We're working on obtaining proper code signing certificates, but as a small team, this is a significant investment we're prioritizing for the near future.

Installation Steps

Download ovTwo Launcher

Click the download link above. The file will download to your chosen location. Select "Keep" to proceed if the download is blocked by your browser.

Run the Installer

Double-click the downloaded file and follow the installation wizard. Choose your preferred installation directory.

Bypass Security Warnings

If you see a security warning, click "More info" or "Show details", then select "Run anyway".

Download Patches

Once installed, launch ovTwo and await for the full game files to download.

Launch and Login

Once installed, Hit PLAY and log in with the account you created. Welcome home!

Native macOS Build Coming Soon

We're working hard on bringing ovTwo natively to macOS. In the meantime, you can play using virtualization software.

Alternative: Play via Virtualization (Unsupported)

While we work on a native Mac build, you can play ovTwo on your Mac using Parallels Desktop to run Windows virtually. Please note: This method is not officially supported by us, and we cannot guarantee performance or provide technical support for virtualization issues.

Requirements:

Mac with Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) or Intel processor
At least 8GB RAM (16GB recommended)
30GB+ free disk space

Parallels Desktop Setup Steps

Download Parallels Desktop

Visit parallels.com and download the free 14-day trial. Install it on your Mac.

Install Windows 11

Launch Parallels and follow the wizard to install Windows 11. Parallels will download and install Windows automatically. Allocate at least 4GB RAM and 2 CPU cores to the VM.

Download ovTwo in Windows

Once Windows is running, open a browser inside the virtual machine and visit ovtwo.com to download the Windows installer.

Install and Play

Follow the Windows installation steps. Performance may vary depending on your Mac's specifications. For best results, use Parallels' "Gaming" profile.

Native Linux Build Coming Soon

We're actively working on a native Linux build. Stay tuned for updates on our Discord server!

Alternative Options (Unsupported)

While we develop the native Linux build, you may be able to run ovTwo using Wine or Proton, though these methods are not officially supported. We cannot provide technical support for Wine/Proton compatibility issues.

Alternatively, you can use virtualization software like VirtualBox or QEMU/KVM to run Windows and install ovTwo there, though performance may be limited.
